Meet Tate

A Boone County native, Tate Ohmer is a third-generation member of his family contracting business. Working alongside his family, he has built literal bridges, fixed up old farmhouses, and works to keep parks and public spaces beautiful. A proud resident of Northside, Tate moved to Lexington to attend Transylvania University and fell in love with his community instantly.

Serving on his neighborhood association, Tate has worked to engage his neighbors in the small yet impactful decisions. As a non-profit lobbyist, Tate helped to negotiate the largest due process protection rights package in state history, the Kentucky Campus Due Process Protection Act. As a campaign consultant, he has helped candidates from city hall to Capitol Hill. A self-admitted policy wonk, Tate believes in good people, and good policies. He works with Democrats and Republicans alike on policies that move Lexington forward.

When not working, Tate can usually be found at Stella’s Deli, getting his steps in around Northside, or at any number of coffee shops around town.
